Delivery Information

How our hostas are packaged

We take pride in every plant we send out and make sure we only send you a hosta we would be happy to receive ourselves. Each plant is hand selected by one of our team and is checked over to ensure it is healthy. We will never send you a plant that we believe will fail. Once selected, your plants will be removed from their pots, this helps to keep your delivery costs down and makes for a lighter package with less chance of damage to the plants themselves. The soil on the roots is carefully brushed off, then the roots are wrapped. Once we have repeated these steps with all of your plants they are then ready for packaging.

As well as growing all of our plants in peat-free compost we have endeavoured to make our packaging as environmentally friendly as possible. Our packaging is 100% biodegradable.

Box - Recyclable

Packaging Chips - 100% Biodegradable

Paper - Made from 100% Recycled Paper

Tape -  Made from 100% Recycled Paper

Cling film - 100% Biodegradable

All the hostas we grow range in size from 9cm to 2L pots subject to varieties and availability. These are young and semi mature plants. All plants arrive bare root.

Sienna Hosta Mail Order

(Above, an example of what we send to you in the Spring and Summer. A small, medium and large variety)

When do we send?

We send orders out all year round with the months of April, May, June and July being the busiest. When ordering hostas online in the winter months your plants will be sent dormant, without foliage to damage they travel very well. During the late Summer and Autumn months hostas will start to get there Autumn colours and die back. We will still send these as Autumn is a great time for planting but be aware the plant will not be as attractive as it would be in the middle of Spring.

Who delivers our hostas?

All of our orders are sent by Royal Mail 48hrs. We send orders Mon-Fri, once dispatched you will receive tracking information. (Please note Royal Mail are currently experiencing delays due to Covid-19. Some deliveries can take 7 days or more to arrive, we thank customers in advance for their patience)

PLEASE NOTE ONCE DELIVERED PLANTS WILL NEED TO BE PLANTED IMMEDIATELY.
